Andy Süess
Originating from the German-speaking part of Switzerland, Andy discovered his passion for scuba diving during an introductory dive in Tunisia in 2008. Shortly after returning home, he enrolled in an Open Water Diver (OWD) course, which he completed in the chilly waters of Lake Zürich. His enthusiasm for diving grew rapidly, leading him to complete his Divemaster and Instructor training while assisting at a local dive shop. Andy’s interest in technical diving was sparked when he took an IANTD Advanced Nitrox course with a local instructor. In 2012, Andy decided to seek warmer waters and greater depths, and permanently relocated to Dahab. He joined Lagona Divers at Happy Life Village as a recreational Instructor. During his time off, Andy continued his technical diving education, achieving his first technical instructor level in 2014.

Kerstin Olbrich
Born in Austria and inspired by countless episodes of Jacques-Yves Cousteau films, Kerstin developed a love for travel and the sea at an early age. This passion led her to pursue a university degree in marine biology. Naturally, she also took up diving, which changed her life profoundly. To escape the cold lakes of Austria, she worked as a divemaster in Croatia and completed an internship in La Palma to earn her first instructor level with CMAS. In 2012, she started working with Lagona Divers at Tropitel Dahab Oasis and became an SSI instructor. During her free time, she decided to explore technical diving. She achieved her first technical instructor level in 2014. It became clear to her that she had previously misunderstood technical diving and that this had to be the focus of her future.
In 2014, Kerstin and Andy made the decision to leave Lagona Divers. Together, they took over one of the most renowned technical diving centers at the time, Team Blue Immersion / Dahab Divers Technical. The shop had been previously managed by prominent figures in the diving industry, including Tom Steiner, Jonas Samuelsson, Erik Brown, and Aron Arngrimson. After successfully running the shop for six years, they felt it was time for a new chapter. Upon reconnecting with their former boss Christian in Dahab, they decided to merge with Lagona Divers.
Currently, Andy manages operations at both centers in Dahab together with Kerstin. He teaches Technical Diving Courses from Foundations up to Hypoxic Trimix Instructor and is also an active CCR instructor on the CCR Triton.
Currently, Kerstin manages operations at both centers in Dahab together with Andy. She is an Instructor Trainer for SSI XR, TDI, and IANTD, as well as a Hypoxic CCR Instructor on the X-CCR and Hollis Prism2. Additionally, Kerstin is a passionate underwater photographer, capturing the beauty of the underwater world through her lens.

Technical Dive Instructor and Guide
Ehab Sobhy
Originally from Alexandria, Ehab was born in 1987 and studied Sports Education before turning his passion for diving into a professional career. He started diving in 2007 and moved to Sharm El Sheikh the following year, where he began working professionally as a dive guide. In 2014, he became a diving instructor and continued working in Sharm El Sheikh for several more years, gaining extensive experience with divers from around the world.

Ehab joined Lagona Divers in 2022, initially working with us as a freelance instructor before becoming part of the SSI team. In 2024, he moved further into technical diving and quickly made it an important part of his work. Today, he is an SSI Extended Range Trimix Instructor in both backmount and sidemount, as well as an experienced sidemount instructor. He is also an active open-circuit Trimix diver to 60 metres and a Normoxic Trimix CCR diver.

At Lagona Divers Technical, Ehab mainly takes care of technical guided diving on both open and closed circuit, including dives to 60 metres. He also teaches our technical entry-level programmes up to 45 metres, as well as sidemount courses. A dedicated diver both in and outside of work, Ehab is also a proud father and brings his calm, practical approach and many years of professional diving experience to the team.
