IANTD Normoxic Trimix in Dahab

The IANTD Normoxic Trimix Course is designed to train divers who wish to dive to depths between 40 and 60 m, but do not wish to breathe air below 40m. Trimix affords a means of managing nitrogen narcosis by reducing the Equivalent Narcotic Depth (END) to a comparable Air depth the diver chooses.

The IANTD Normoxic Trimix Diver program includes academic lectures, confined water skills development and open water dives using Air, EANx or Trimix using multiple gas switches.

The IANTD Normoxic Trimix program qualifies divers to perform Trimix dives to a maximum depth of 60 m using custom bottom mixes with a minimum oxygen content of 19% and a maximum of two decompression cylinders. This Program is designed to train those who wish to dive to depths between 39 m and 60 m, but who do not wish to breathe air below 40 m.

Prerequisites IANTD Normoxic Trimix:

  • IANTD Advanced Nitrox Diver or equivalent and proof of 100 logged dives (with at least 30 dives deeper than 27 m)
  • Min. 18 years old

Duration:

  • Min. 4 open water dives with a total bottom dive of 300 min
  • Three dives must be deeper than 40 m and one between 54 m and 60 m.
  • Bottom mix cannot exceed a PO2 of 1.4 ATA and deco of 1.6 ATA.
  • Normoxic Trimix dives must be conducted using a mixture containing at least 20% oxygen (± 1%) and the Equivalent Narcosis Depth (END) may not exceed 39 m
  • Additional Normoxic Trimix Diver Plus requirements:
  • For dives with a maximum depth of 67 m min. FO2 must be no less than 18%
  • One extra dive with a total run time of 55 min. between 63 m and 67 m
